Senior Puppy Class

The six week Senior Puppy Class is for puppies aged  between 13 and 24 weeks of age and will be run on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

The Class is designed to meet the developmental needs of older pups as they settle into your family and begin to understand your expectations.   You will learn the fundamentals of how your puppy learns, how your puppy communicates, and the best way to train your puppy.  The program will cover:

  • Socialisation and life experiences. And why it’s important!
  • Clicker training
  • Respond to name
  • Sit
  • Drop
  • Sit for a greeting
  • Lead walking
  • Come when called
  • Check how you’re doing with toilet training
  • Check how you’re doing with mouthing
  • Calm behaviour – why it’s important and some techniques

Senior Puppy Classes are small so that everyone gets plenty of individualised attention.

Please note that the first class in the program is just for humans! In the first puppy-free week, the basics of positive reinforcement training and how dogs learn will be explained. You will also receive a clicker and learn how it is used as a powerful positive training tool.   The first class is also great to talk about what you want to get out of classes and things you would like to cover in the remaining four weeks.

Please contact us if you have any questions and want to book - next class starts on 11 January, 2017.
